Black Berry will now provide direct software updates to unlocked Black Berry Priv purchased from AT&T.
The carrier has previously announced that it will no longer provide updates to AT&T-branded Priv handsets that use different networks.
Well, looks like the Canadian firm has finally come up with a fix as reports are pouring in that Black Berry has decided to handle updates for unlocked AT&T Priv units on its own. The development is yet to be officially confirmed by the company.
And needless to say, we'll update you as and when it's done.
Just be careful about which model you buy, as the TCL-made Black Berry comes in two configurations.
The unlocked versions of Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are available starting today at Best Buy retail stores. Both are also being sold directly by Samsung, but Best Buy is probably your fastest bet if you didn’t pre-order; quite a few stores here in New York are already stocking the unlocked devices.
The unlocked Galaxy S8 is compatible with all four major networks in the US, as it offers the necessary support for both GSM and CDMA bands.
We’ll look to see if we can get more clarification from Black Berry.
In the meantime, if you’re an owner of one of these pre-unlocked PRIV units then stay on the lookout for an update to head to your phone.
There is no official statement regarding this development, and the Support page offered scant information.
